Who We Are

First licensed in 1963 — making it the Greater Rochester region’s first FCC-authorized college radio station — WGSU serves the Genesee Valley, including the SUNY Geneseo campus and surrounding Livingston County communities, as a noncommercial educational station. WGSU broadcasts and streams, 24/7, a commercial-free, current-based alt-pop format.

WGSU also airs a variety of non-music programming, including news, public-affairs and sports shows, and is home to Geneseo Ice Knights hockey.

Important Updates

WGSU's FM signal is down, but the live stream is going strong.

We are saddened to announce that both the WGSU antenna and transmitter are broken, which has taken down our FM signal for the time being. Our online live stream is still going strong, so you can still listen to all of your favorite WGSU programming, but we will not be available at 89.3 FM until further notice. We appreciate your support as we navigate these challenges and hope to bring our FM broadcast back to the community soon!
