WGSU, the film
Yesterday I received a call during my show from Dhaval, a former DJ. A few years ago he made a short film called Catharsis, and he called to inform us of a review of it that's up on filmthreat.com. You can read it here.

Why is this in any way relevant to us?

1) Part of it was filmed in the WGSU bathroom.
2) It featuers several WGSUers as actors, and you may recognize some of them, especially if you are a junior or senior. They include:
- CP, our faculty advisor
- The Castawaves, who are currently in local rotation, and are former DJs (Morrissey and Jason)
- Mike Mahoney, former music director
- Dhaval himself
- Robin Cucurullo. I don't know who she is.

So, if you've ever wondered how good of an actor CP is or how our bathroom looks on camera, you can watch it
here, it's only about 12 minutes long.

Also made by Dhaval is a WGSU ad. We actually knew that existed because last year (I think) one of the promoters told Meg (our music director) that he did a search for Ted Leo on Google video and this advertisement for our station came up. The ad has Mike Mahoney in it too, and also former station manager Liz Boylan. You can watch it
here. (Hearts of Oak is in the background, if you're wondering about the Ted Leo connection.)

PB & J
First of all, I would like to apologize for my apparent inability to post videos on here properly. So I am just going to post links to them instead. Not quite as exciting as having them show up on this page, I know. I am more disappointed than you are.

OK, here is what I was going to write about, which I have shamelessly stolen from another blog but am going to post anyway because it's (very) indirectly related to our station:

If you've been paying attention to rotation at all this semester, (or if you like to spend your time checking out all sorts of indie music blogs and sites,) you should be pretty/very familiar with the song Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John. Doesn't ring a bell? Don't quite remember how it goes? It's ok. Here's the link to the video on you tube. The video is not important to this post, it's just a way for you to hear the song if you don't know it:

Alright, so now that you have the song in your head, watch this video- it is so wonderful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh_8j8k39y0

In other news, I just replied to a comment that was made by an anonymous former DJ on an older post. I have no idea how long ago that comment was posted, but the person asked some questions, so I gave some answers.
